A-ha Moments

So I'm at a nice dinner with friends last night in Alexandria and I am watching two things that were a bit surprising to me.  One -- the bigger upset -- was that Notre Dame gave Syracuse the Orange Men's first L of the year.  Not as surprising, as I've been following the SC polling data, Newt Gingrich took South Carolina.  A bit surprised that the Cain (e.g. Colbert) vote also received nearly 6,500 votes.

So we've had three states and now we've had three caucus and primary winners.

Stay tuned for a live post from the SOTU.

Take II in Iowa

Interesting day:  1) Santorum wins Iowa after all; 2) Perry suspends his campaign; and 3) Gingrich is polling well in SC...but his ex-wife speaks out.  Tomorrow Herman Cain and Stephen Colbert hold a rally.

On the Road to SC

No surprises last night in New Hampshire, but an interesting report from the PPP Poll that Stephen Colbert is leading Governor Huntsman.  Tonight on the Colbert Report, the host toyed with "running for President in South Carolina" again.  An announcement will be made tomorrow.

I'll stick with paying more attention to Americans Elect:

Enjoying a night of CNN and the Iowa GOP Caucuses.

Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper always have the best high-tech gadgets (e.g. see "weebles").

Interesting results with Senator Santorum coming in a handful votes show of first.
